More from Parents vs
Different conversations, useful things and parts of family life we keep coming back to.
We kept having the same conversations.
Food, phones, school, work, money, who is picking up which child and why. The two of us kept ending up on the same questions, in the car, on voice notes, halfway through making dinner.
Raising children in a world that keeps changing throws up questions our own parents never had to answer. So we started recording the conversations instead of losing them.
We don't think there's one right way to do any of this. We ask the question properly, take other people's views seriously, and keep whatever turns out to be useful.
Less judgement. More honesty. Better conversations.
What are you thinking about?

Worth knowing this week
Three things worth reading, trying or talking about this week.
- Read
Pregnant Then Screwed, State of the Nation 2026
Six in ten mothers granted flexible working say their workload stays exactly the same. Worth ten minutes of your week.
(opens in a new tab) - Try
One handover of independence
Pick one thing your child could do without you this week. A shop run, a walk, a phone call. Then let them do it.
- Talk about
What phones are actually for
Ask everyone in your house what they think a phone is for. The answers rarely match, and that's the useful bit.
