About

We were already having these conversations. We decided to turn the microphones on.

Parents vs the Modern World began with the conversations we kept having anyway: between ourselves, with friends, at the school gates. About how different childhood looks now, how becoming a mother changes a woman, and why work, money, screens and food all arrive with a commentary attached.

We don't always agree, and we don't expect every listener to agree with us. That is part of the point.

This is a place to listen, think and find things worth your time. A growing library of conversations and resources about family, identity and modern life.

Dani

I’m Dani. Mum of two, founder, and someone who has rarely taken the direct route to anything.

I’ve travelled the world, lived in London, Sydney and Dubai, worked for a royal family and had careers spanning advertising, aviation and people. I’ve built businesses, led teams and worked with hundreds of children and families through Tiny Tastemakers. There has been, as they say, a lot of plot.

What I’m really interested in is why raising children feels so different from when we were growing up, how we raise confident, capable kids in the middle of all that change, and why women are still trying to make ambition fit around lives that weren’t designed in neat little boxes.

I have experience. I have opinions. And I’m always curious enough to question both.

Tash

I’m a mum of two, one born in America and one born in the middle of Covid, so I’ve never really believed parenting comes with a rulebook.

I loved travelling the world before kids and now I’m happiest exploring it with my family, with the odd girls’ weekend thrown in too. I love good food, a glass of wine, plenty of chatter, probably more than is entirely sensible, and planning things for people to enjoy.

Most of all, I love being a mum, while fully accepting that it can also be messy, exhausting, hilarious and absolutely nothing like you imagined it would be.

I’m passionate about bringing mums together in a world that can feel increasingly confusing, creating more honest conversations, sharing what helps, and reminding each other that there’s rarely just one right way to do any of it.
